Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ (FWP) Hunt Planner: An interactive map that displays Hunting Districts, Public Lands and private properties enrolled in FWP Access programs (i.e., Block Management Areas, Public Access Lands Agreements, etc.).
Bureau of Land Management’s Montana Public Land Access Web App: An interactive web-map that shows public lands and various easements that secure public access. Easements are shown in yellow.
Pheasants Forever’s Land Acquisitions Map: Although still in its early release phase, PF’s Land Acquisitions Map shows lands that have been purchased by the organization and opened for public hunting and outdoor recreation opportunities.
U.S. Forest Service Interactive Visitor Map: An interactive web-map that shows USFS districts, land boundaries, trails, road systems and campgrounds.
Montana State Cadastral: An interactive web-map that shows property ownership; be it public lands or private entities. A great tool to utilize when trying to form relationships with private landowners prior to asking for permission to hunt.
Montana FWP’s 2021 Access Guide/BMA Maps: A booklet that lists all private properties enrolled in public access programs as well as each properties individual PDF map. Maps can be downloaded to computers, smart phones and tablets and can be uploaded to apps that show your real-time location.
Pheasants Forever’s Montana Pheasant Hunting Forecast 2021: An article discussing how the drought has potentially affected pheasant numbers across the state.
Montana FWP’s 2021 Upland Game Bird Forecast: A compilation of reports from biologists on how bird numbers may be affected due to the drought year and helpful tips for increasing your success this season.
