PF Members,
The Headwaters Chapter of Pheasants Forever and Montana FWP are excited to again host a Youth Mentor Pheasant Hunt in conjunction with the youth
pheasant opener on September 25th. The event will include a orientation and
practice shoot at the Helena Trap Club prior to the field day, see the
attached flyer for details.
Young hunters ages 12-14 that have completed hunter education and have acurrent license are eligible, see the following link for more details.

Any parent and youth are welcome to participate, please contact Greg Wirth,
gregwirth@hotmail.com or 457-9268 if you would like to attend or need more information. Please pass this information along to anyone else who may be
interested.
Mentors are needed to make this event a success, mentor duties will be
explained at the orientation but it simply involves spending time and your
experiences with the future generation of hunters and conservationists. The
main responsibilities will be to monitor the youth for gun safety, help with
bird identification and explain the hunting strategies; which should all be
done sparingly and as needed so the youth can absorb the situation and focuson having fun while hunting!
We will need a mentor for each youth, we are planning on 10-12 participants,please let me know if you are interested in helping (gregwirth@hotmail.com or 457-9268).
PF Member Kieth Myott is working with the Helena Gun Dog Club to provide
dogs and handlers for the event.
